Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient therapy provides a higher level of care and attention than can be provided solely in individual and group sessions. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Connections is a 24 session group that meets 3 sessions per week and 3 hours per session. The IOP format includes addiction education, relapse prevention, recovery speakers, social support, art therapy, meditation, yoga, and experiential activities. The IOP group uses the Matrix model, an evidenced based curriculum for intensive outpatient groups. IOP may be particularly helpful for individuals returning from residential treatment as well as for those who need more support than outpatient services. Program services include weekly individual sessions, as well as a weekly family support group.

IOP groups are offered both mornings (9 am to noon) and during the early evening (5 pm to 8 pm).

Currently during the COVID-19 pandemic, IOP groups have been conducted primarily via televideo. Please check with clinic as virtual versus in-person may change at any time based on local health conditions and group preference.
